Amy Schumer Bio

Amy’s parents, Gordon David Schumer and Sandra Jane (née Jones), welcomed her into the world on June 1, 1981, in Manhattan, New York, United States. Her father is a first cousin of United States Senator Chuck Schumer, and he was born into a Jewish family of Ukrainian origin. Amy, like her mother, was brought up in a Jewish household.
Her father was the owner of a thriving baby-furniture business in Manhattan. As a result, Schumer grew up in a rich family throughout her early formative years. The corporation, on the other hand, collapsed quite quickly. As a consequence, when she was nine years old, her father was forced into bankruptcy. After her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the situation became much worse. Soon after, her parents separated.
She subsequently moved in with her mother in Rockville Centre, New York, where she remained for a while. She attended the ‘South Side High School,’ where she received her high school diploma in 1999.

Her mother was a member of the board of directors of the ‘Central Synagogue’ of Nassau County, where Schumer also attended religious school.
