Curtis West Harris was an African-American clergyman, politician, and civil rights advocate in Virginia who lived from July 1, 1924, until December 10, 2017. In 1928, his family relocated to Hopewell, Virginia, where he developed into a man. On February 20, 1946, Harris wed Ruth Jones of Hopewell; the couple had six kids. His 65-year-old beloved wife passed away on May 22, 2011, and his son Kenneth passed away on March 2, 2019.
