Dominic Edward Cooper (born June 2, 1978) is an English actor who has appeared in television, film, theatre, and radio.  He is most known for his roles as Jesse Custer on AMC’s Preacher (2016–2019) and young Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including performances in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and the TV series Agent Carter (2015–16). Cooper also starred as Sky in the films Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, both released in 2018.

Cooper rose to prominence after originating the role of Dakin in the 2004 play The History Boys, which he reprised in 2006, transferred to Broadway, and was adapted to film. Since then, he’s appeared in a number of British and American films, including the critically acclaimed historical pieces An Education (2009) and My Week with Marilyn (2011), as well as action blockbusters like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) and Need for Speed: Underground (2013). (2014).

Cooper is the son of Julie (née Heron), a nursery school teacher, and Brian Cooper, an auctioneer, and was born and raised in Greenwich, London.
