Felix Mallard Bio

Born Felix Mallard on the 20th of April in 1998, he is an Australian actor, singer, and model. In 2014, he made his acting debut as Ben Kirk in the Australian television drama Neighbours. As Cooper in the American sitcom Happy Together, Mallard moved to the United States in 2018 and stayed there till the show was terminated in 2019.

Lucas Caravaggio in Netflix’s Locke & Key; Aiden in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist; and Marcus Baker in Ginny & Georgia are just a few of his other notable roles. Melbourne, Australia, is where Mallard was born and reared. Younger siblings are a part of his family. It’s an all-boys institution, thus his title was College Prefect at Christian Brothers. A Technical Production course and the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) were both passed by him in 2015.

Mallard started fencing at the age of ten. He competed at the state and national level, winning two bronze medals in team events at the 2012 Victorian National Champion and finishing sixth in the under-15 National Sabre Championships in 2013. Mallard was signed to Vivien’s Models at the age of 13 after being noticed by a modelling agency. Yves Magazine featured him in an editorial piece as well as several other ads. Guitarist Mallard also plays keyboards and drums in his band. Punk rock band Enemies Alike has a guitarist and a singer in him. Melbourne venues, school music festivals, and Battle of the Bands tournaments sponsored by the Associated Catholic Colleges have all hosted the band.

In an audition he was invited to, he was surprisingly chosen to go by his modelling agent. Although he had never really considered pursuing a career in acting prior to this, his time on set convinced him otherwise. He returned for a second four-month guest stay the following year while still in school. After graduating from high school, Mallard re-joined the cast of Neighbours as a regular cast member in 2016.

Throughout the series, Mallard’s character was frequently depicted playing music. A 20-episode Instagram spinoff, Xanthe Ben, and the webseries Summer Stories, both of which premiered around Christmas 2016, also featured him. Mallard wrapped up filming his final Neighbours scenes in late 2017. He returned to his father’s hometown of Oakey, Queensland, to start a fresh life in the wake of his father’s death. His final show aired on April 10, 2018. He returned via video link on the 31st of December and the 7th of January of this year. For Maefire’s 2016 single “Without You,” he starred in the music video.

Cooper James (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Amber Stevens West (Amber Stevens West) are the stars of the CBS comedy series Happy Together, which premiered in January 2018. Harry Styles sought refuge from the spotlight when One Direction’s career grew, and he moved in with television producer Ben Winston and his family. Mallard received calls from Harry Styles and James Corden, who convinced him to accept the role from the show’s producer, Winston.

The casting director initially requested that Mallard use his native Australian accent during his audition. As a result of the show’s poor ratings since its October 1 launch, CBS announced on November 28 that it will not order any more episodes beyond the first thirteen. CBS announced on May 10th, 2019, that the sitcom has been cancelled.

In the Netflix horror movie Locke & Key, Mallard played Lucas Caravaggio, a 17-year-old friend of Rendell Locke who died 25 years ago after being possessed by a demon. Filming began in the first half of 2019. It was launched on February 7th, 2020. He appeared in All the Bright Places, a romantic drama film that was released by Netflix in February 2020. In 2015, a cinematic adaptation of Jennifer Niven’s YA novel of the same name was released.

On Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Mallard first appeared as Zoey’s next-door neighbour in the second season as an Australian musician who had just graduated from college and returned from a trip to Thailand. The role required the performer to take part in a variety of songs and dances.

On February 24, 2021, the movie, which was shot in Toronto in the second half of 2019 and is scheduled for release, will be released. With 52 million views in just 28 days, Ginny & Georgia has been extended for a second season, making it Netflix’s ninth most popular series. The launch date has been announced for sometime in the latter half of 2022. With almost 3 million Instagram followers already, Mallard’s show has clearly become a hit.

Ginny and Georgia, a Netflix series about a mother and daughter moving north in quest of a new beginning, features 3-year-old Australian actor, Felix Mallard, who plays Marcus, a bad boy in the show. He has swiftly become a favourite of Generation Z. Panic ensues, as do covert gatherings and conversations regarding the mental health of adolescents. Despite his gruff and cold attitude, Mallard’s character Marcus soon proves to be more than simply Ginny’s love interest. He has an important backstory that contrasts with his cold and aloof persona. The second season of the show has recently been announced.

After getting his start in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, Mallard went on to star in movies including Happily Ever After, Locke & Key, and most recently, as Aiden in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Mallard spoke with Flaunt about his career as an actor, Ginny and Georgia’s enduring fame, and his own emotional connection to the character Marcus.

I was never involved in any kind of drama in high school. Acting wasn’t something that crossed my mind until I was about 14 years old, when I was working as a model. Having been approached by a modelling agency, I learned of an audition with Neighbours and was encouraged to attend by the agency, who had put me in touch with them. For the audition, I had no idea what I was going to say, but I had a lot of fun and was hired for a six-episode run. During those six episodes, I made fun of the character on several occasions. The premise was that he was returning to the area where his father had died, and I was baffled as to why he was so unhappy about his father’s death, considering that he died when he was two years old and that he is now fifteen.

Because I couldn’t understand why he had to go through it all again. In light of this, the director came up to me and noted that I was in a new place, which he said was triggering all kinds of emotions and agony in me. First and first, you have an obligation to tell the 20,000 children watching that it’s acceptable to grow up without a father and feel that way.” I realised then and there that this was the career path for the rest of my life. There was nothing else to it. It’s amazing what we can do with the medium of movies and television. I wish to make an attempt to disseminate these ideas in whatever project I work on.

I wasn’t fond of him at first. The screenplay was the first thing I read after watching the pilot. A jerk and an arrogant bully were my first thoughts when I saw him.  Soon after that realisation dawned on me that I was not alone in feeling this way.

When I read about this character, I can picture them in my mind’s eye. The message is clear to me. Because he educates young men that they must take responsibility for their acts and that being insecure is not an excuse for being an asshole, I grew enamoured with him. Most of the time it’s the macho jock who gets the most joy out of anything like that. Subverting that was difficult and enjoyable at the same time. When Ginny reveals herself, I had a lot of fun playing her character, who has many barriers and masks to break down. So many young men use walls to shield themselves from their own feelings.

Absolutely. I’m just a little sliver of what’s going on. My persona is a straight, white dude. Because heteronormative tropes have been honoured or built up in that iconic image far too often, such viewpoints should be questioned. More and more people’s voices are being heard and stories about the world we live in are being told.

Marcus is the fourteen-year-old version of myself, but with ten times the amount of worry. That has a lot to teach us. At the moment, my emotions were all over the map. Everything seemed to be coming to an end, and I was furious and irritated. A lot of people feel this way in their twenties, and Marcus is no exception. An actor can use everything that’s authentic about themselves in order to bring Marcus’s character’s sensitivity and realism into focus.
